One of Citi's top equities quants resigned. Others may follow
Where is Anissa Dhouibi? Not at Citi. Where is she going? Maybe a fund. Will some of her team follow? Maybe so.

Citi isn't commenting on Dhouibi's whereabouts but we understand that she is no longer there. Dhoubi's LinkedIn profile says she was the US bank's global head of equities quantitative analysis and that she managed a team of quants.
Dhouibi herself didnt' respond to our overtures and so we cannot say for sure where she is going next, but we understand that it may be a hedge fund. Citi has seemingly yet to appoint her successor.
Dhouibi joined Citi from JPMorgan in 2020. She was the global head of equities quant analysis at JPM and is understood to have been popular at Citi. There are suggestions that key members of her team, many of them promoted by Dhouibi are feeling unsettled by her departure and may yet go on their way as well.
Citi has been pushing harder into quantitative equities trading as it focuses on growing its prime broking business. It has a deep bench, but Dhouibi is no longer sitting upon it.
If Dhouibi has indeed left Citi for a hedge fund, she will not be the first. Business Insider reported that her predecessor, Mark Gibbs, left to join Brevan Howard in 2019. Gibbs left Brevan for Barclays in 2022.
