Schonfeld hiring python quants in Dubai and Hong Kong for growing team

Schonfeld is the big winner among multi-strategy hedge funds in 2024, up 19.7% according to Business Insider, in what is a somewhat unexpected achievement given its drama-laden end to 2023. A team that played a meaningful role in the fund's performance is the (relatively) new Delta One team, which is looking to grow in 2025.

The Delta One team launched in September 2023 after hiring Goldman Sachs partner Riccardo Riboldi in March of that year. 2024 was its first full calendar year of operation and saw the team grow in size to 40 investment professionals. Now Schonfeld is ramping up its quant hiring for the team.

The hedge fund has ten experienced quant job openings, eight of which are in the Delta One team. It's hiring a mix of quant strats and quantitative developers across Hong Kong, London and Dubai, where Riboldi is based. The team also has members in New York.

The quantitative developer roles request expertise in Python. These quants will be "developing and maintaining a centralized library for valuation and risk calculations." It's not clear whether Python is the language of choice across the entire team, but the quant strat listings also request experience in a language "like Python."

The Delta One team at large has been modest in its growth, but made a few senior hires in 2024. These include Anil Gademsetty, an ex-Blackrock portfolio manager and Balyasny analyst, who joined as a senior analyst back in June. Nathaniel Coleman joined as a portfolio manager in Dubai after spending seven years as a Delta One trader at Barclays.
