The 2026 Ideal Recruiter report is based on a survey we ran across 2025, which received over 7,500 responses from industry professionals. Each one was asked what industry they worked in, and each one was asked what the best recruiter in that space was.
According to our voters, the best-perceived recruiter in the hedge fund space was Paragon Alpha. The London-based firm, which also has an office in New York, also says that it operates in the Chicago, Geneva, Singapore, and Hong Kong markets. The firm recruits for a variety of strategies, including equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies.
Paragon Alpha provides “lots of information” to its candidates, one respondent to our survey based in London said. He also noted that it had a “good website”, which he found very informative.
In second place was True Search, a firm based in Philadelphia with offices in 21 cities, including New York, London, Singapore, and Dubai, among others. The firm was co-founded by Brad Stadler, a former venture capital and technology partner at executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles.
Odyssey Search Partners came in third. The firm, which has a single office in New York, was particularly impressive to respondents for the quality of its network – it was perceived as working with top people. Anthony Keizner, one of Odyssey’s cofounders, was previously head of the hedge fund recruitment team at Glocap Search, a major rival.
