Hedge fund Jain Global hired SocGen's head of banks research
Jain Global has been hiring less this year than last year. But it's still hiring.
In London, Jain has added Geoff Dawes, the former head of banks research at SocGen in London. Dawes joined this month according to his LinkedIn profile. He spent 13 years at SocGen previously.
Financial News reported yesterday that Jain Global's UK operation employed 28 people at the end of 2024 and paid them £34m in wages and salaries over a 15-month period. In March, the fund employed 300 people in total.
This month, Jain Global also hired Ramnath Botta from Goldman Sachs in Singapore as an equity long short portfolio manager. Other major hires this year in London include Herbert Filho, Morgan Stanley's former head of credit trading and research, who the FCA register says joined in June.
Funds across the market have been adding equity portfolio managers and analysts this year. Millennium recently recruited Keisi Hysa from Citadel as a senior portfolio manager in London, focused on consumer stocks.
The market is awash with equity researchers after HSBC cut tens of equity researchers last month.
