Kevin Rands joined G-Research in London this month as its head of edge trading technology. The role appears to be an application of edge computing, when computations are moved closer to a source of data to minimize latency.
Rands spent the last eight years at asset manager T. Rowe Price. He held various tech leadership roles, but was most recently head of fixed income tech, head of investment risk tech and head of front office architecture and engineering. Rands also worked on equity derivatives infrastructure for both JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley, holding an executive director role in both banks.
On the sales side, G-Research hired Julia Ly to work on strategic data partnerships. She spent the last four years at S&P, where she was EMEA head of hedge funds within the chief client office.
Last month, it also hired James Narramore, an SVP and co-head of equity alpha capture at London hedge fund Winton. Narramore, a data specialist, doesn't disclose his new role at G-Research, but he has a background in sales and business development.
