Mike Sanders has joined the UK hedge fund as its global chief technology officer (CTO), based in London. Sanders spent the past five years as an MD at JPMorgan, which he joined as its global head of macro technology in 2019, then became EMEA chief information officer (CIO) in addition two years later.
Prior to that, Sanders spent a decade at Citi, where he was also an MD and global head of FX technology.
He's not the only 'CTO' to join recently, however. Brevan Howard also hired Subhek Garg, a former Goldman Sachs MD, as CTO for the US last March
Sanders' predecessor was Kevin Gage, formerly CIO of Mizuho, who has departed the firm.
Elsewhere in London, a technologist who joined a hedge fund from banking has moved on again... to crypto. Mykola Garkusha, head of transaction technology at ExodusPoint, has joined market maker Wintermute as a trading platform developer. He previously worked as a VP in JPMorgan's equities electronic trading team.
