Working Patterns and location - Fully on site
Key responsibilities
• Design, build, support and continuously improve infrastructure platforms underpinning critical services.
• Automate operational processes to reduce manual effort and improve platform reliability.
• Support delivery of platform modernisation and transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture, security and software engineering teams on technical solutions.
• Monitor platform health, identify optimisation opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to long-term resolution strategies.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards and reusable engineering practices.
• Share knowledge and mentor others within the wider engineering community.
Skills & experience
• Proven experience designing, building and operating large-scale infrastructure platforms.
• Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills applied to complex technical challenges.
• Ability to take ownership of problems and work independently when required.
• Experience contributing to automation of operational and infrastructure processes.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Commitment to secure, reliable and maintainable engineering practices.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows enterprise operating systems in large environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud and/or on-premises infrastructure platforms.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, automation tooling and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with virtualisation, containerisation and networking concepts.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices.
• Knowledge of monitoring, observability and operational tooling.
