THE GLOBAL TRANSACTION BANKING DEPARTMENT (GTBD) SEOUL DESK SERVES AS A STRATEGIC PARTNER TO RELATIONSHIP MANAGERS (RMS), DRIVING THE PROMOTION AND DELIVERY OF TRANSACTION BANKING SOLUTIONS. WE PROVIDE SPECIALIZED EXPERTISE AND DEEP INSIGHTS INTO CASH MANAGEMENT AND TRADE FINANCE PRODUCTS. STRUCTURALLY, THE DEPARTMENT OPERATES UNDER THE APAC REGIONAL HEAD AND MAINTAINS A DIRECT REPORTING LINE TO GTBD HONG KONG AND GTBD APAC, ENSURING SEAMLESS REGIONAL INTEGRATION.
Job Responsibilities
The incumbent will lead the Transaction Banking business for the Seoul Branch, representing the Global Transaction Banking Department (GTBD) Seoul desk. Responsibilities include delivering tailored solutions in Trade Finance, Transaction FX, Cash Management, and Current Account deposits to target customers both locally and regionally. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, IT vendors, government agencies, financial institutions, and legal counsel. As the leader of the GTDB Seoul desk, the incumbent will drive business growth for customers and develop strategic initiatives to expand Transaction Banking across Korea.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the senior representative of GTBD Seoul desk, providing leadership and direction to deliver the Transaction Banking objectives set by GTBD and Seoul Branch.
- Originate, structure and drive the development of Transaction Banking opportunities by identifying client needs and delivering tailored solutions for existing and prospective clients, working independently and in close partnership with Corporate Banking, Project Finance, Regional GTBD and other key stakeholders.
- Develop the Korea Transaction Banking strategy aligned with the Seoul Branch Corporate Banking strategy and GTBD APAC strategic priorities, collaborating across multiple internal functions to define focus sectors, client priorities, and growth initiatives. .
- Own the implementation of the Transaction Banking strategy, including developing a clear execution roadmap and a mid-term business plan for the GTBD Seoul desk.
- Manage and build relationships with existing and target clients, taking ownership of assigned portfolios and maintaining a disciplined client engagement and calling program independently and jointly with RMs and product partners.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of GTBD solutions from marketing and client engagement through product advisory, credit and transaction execution processes, internal workflow coordination, and booking arrangements to ensure timely and controlled deal closure.
- Partner with product teams and other relevant stakeholders internally to strengthen local infrastructure and enhance product capabilities for GTBD solutions in Korea, coordinating closely with Regional GTBD to ensure alignment with regional standards and best practices.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of Transaction Banking experience within an international bank, with a strong preference for Trade Finance Sales/ Product expertise, strong Trade Finance product knowledge and solid working knowledge of Cash Management.
- Established network and market connectivity in Korea to support business development (preferred).
- Proven ability to structure, negotiate, and execute complex, bespoke Transaction Banking solutions that enhance client value.
- Demonstrated experience managing transaction documentation in coordination with internal/external legal counsel (e.g. facility agreement, security documentation and registrations, and other relevant facility documents)
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent presentation, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across multiple levels and functions.
- Sound credit and financial analysis capabilities, including interpretation of financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow) and understanding of credit processes and internal rating frameworks.
- Strong awareness of industry dynamics, trends, and innovation within the Transaction Banking landscape.
- Leadership capability with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across diverse, multi-disciplinary, and regional teams.
