Job description

We are eeking experienced Business Development professionals to join our Alipay+ team in Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the growth of Alipay+, a leading cross-border payment service, in the Japanese market. You will work closely with merchants, acquirers, and marketing partners to expand our payment ecosystem and maximize brand visibility and transaction volume.

Key Responsibilities:

The Key Account Manager position is a fundamental component of the merchant service team, serving a portfolio of large and strategically important merchants and partners in each market.

Acquire and manage relationships with major merchants

Develop and execute promotional campaigns to maximize Alipay+ brand exposure

Negotiate marketing agreements

Job Requirement

Requirements:

Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or Customer Success roles

Background in Payment (Fintech) and/or Inbound Tourism (Visit Japan) industries

Strong understanding of the payment ecosystem and merchant acquiring landscape in Japan

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders

Japanese: Native or business-proficient (Required)

English or Chinese: Business-proficient (Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with major merchant accounts or large enterprise clients

Network within the Japanese payment/acquiring industry

Knowledge of cross-border payment solutions and international e-wallets

Experience in promotional campaign planning and execution

Familiarity with commercial district operations or SME sales

Understanding of foreign tourist behavior and payment preferences in Japan
