A leading global corporate & investment bank is hiring a Global Markets Operations specialist to sit at the heart of its APAC franchise, acting as the dedicated operational point of contact for a portfolio of premium Japanese clients. This is a genuinely client-facing operations seat: you'll be the trusted bridge between the bank's sales desk, its Japanese client base, and operational teams across Asia and Europe. What you'll do

1. Own the operational relationship with a defined book of premium Japanese clients, anticipating and heading off settlement breaks before they escalate.
2. Take charge of claims, queries and escalations end to end, and keep sales and front office close on anything touching settlements, payments and confirmations.
3. Run daily post-trade checks across the portfolio, working a follow-the-sun model to cover time-zone gaps with the European teams.
4. Spot ways to improve and automate how the desk works, and shape new value-added services off the back of client feedback.

What you'll bring

1. Around 5+ years in Global Markets operations, with real exposure across asset classes (FX, rates, derivatives, money markets).
2. A track record in a client-facing operations role, comfortable being the face of the bank to demanding clients.
3. Fluency in Japanese and English, both business-grade.
4. A strong grasp of the trade lifecycle, reconciliation and settlement, plus familiarity with major cross-asset processing platforms (e.g. Murex, Calypso).
5. Bonus points for a Master's in a finance-related field and a genuine automation/process-improvement mindset.
