Our client, a leading financial services entity, is seeking an experienced IT QA Manager to oversee quality governance and vendor quality performance for their platform.
Working from the client side, you will play a critical role in monitoring and challenging vendor delivery quality, ensuring all change requests, testing activities, and releases are delivered to the highest standards.
This role requires a highly assertive individual with strong stakeholder management capabilities, excellent communication skills, and proven experience managing vendors within large-scale technology transformation programmes. You will work closely with the vendor and other project stakeholders to ensure quality objectives, testing coverage, release governance, and continuous improvement initiatives are effectively implemented.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the QA Team Head, you will:
- Manage testing, quality assurance (QA), and quality control (QC) activities for the programme, ensuring compliance with quality standards and governance requirements.
- Monitor and assess vendor quality performance across project deliverables, testing activities, and release outcomes.
- Review and challenge vendor testing strategies, QA processes, test coverage, defect management, and results.
- Conduct quality reviews and project health checks to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Drive vendors to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions within agreed timelines.
- Ensure project deliverables meet business, technical, and regulatory requirements, and support release readiness.
- Collaborate with business, technology, and vendor stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues and drive successful delivery.
- Act as the key contact for quality management matters and provide quality reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen quality controls throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT project management, quality assurance, quality control, or testing management.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise systems and technology transformation programmes.
- Experience within Insurance, Pension, Financial Services, or regulated industries is highly preferred.
- Solid experience overseeing vendor-delivered projects and managing vendor performance.
- Experience conducting quality reviews, risk assessments, and release governance activities.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Quality Control (QC) practices.
- Hands-on knowledge of various testing disciplines, including:
- Functional Testing
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Regression Testing
- Performance Testing
- Security Testing
- Other Non-Functional Testing methodologies
- Familiarity with change management, release management, and project governance frameworks.
