Risk & Resilience Manager
Sydney | Hybrid | Financial Markets | $160- $170k + Super
An opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Resilience Manager to join a leading financial markets organisation and play a key role in strengthening the resilience of critical business operations.
This is a hands-on role focused on operational resilience, business continuity, operational risk and scenario testing, with responsibility for delivering resilience initiatives across Market Operations and supporting the ongoing development of the organisation's broader resilience framework.
The role would suit an experienced operational resilience or risk professional, as well as someone coming from a risk consulting, risk advisory or resilience consulting background who has worked with complex financial services organisations.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Delivering the Market Operations resilience strategy and supporting the implementation of resilience uplift initiatives.
- Contributing to the development and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise resilience framework.
- Developing and maintaining scenario libraries and incident response playbooks.
- Supporting the development of recovery strategies to respond to severe but plausible disruption scenarios.
- Coordinating and delivering business continuity and operational resilience testing, identifying gaps and driving remediation actions.
- Supporting the identification and assessment of critical operations and the ongoing operationalisation of the Operational Resilience Framework.
- Conducting risk assessments and supporting the identification, monitoring and mitigation of operational risks.
- Providing practical risk and resilience advice to business, operations and technology stakeholders.
- Monitoring regulatory and industry developments relevant to operational resilience and business continuity.
- Supporting broader risk governance, reporting and resilience uplift initiatives.
About you
We're looking for someone with demonstrated experience building and maintaining operational resilience capabilities within financial services or another complex, highly regulated environment.
You may come from an in-house operational resilience, operational risk or business continuity role, or from a risk consulting / risk advisory environment where you have delivered resilience and risk projects for financial services clients.
You will ideally have:
- Experience developing and implementing operational resilience frameworks and capabilities.
- Strong experience developing scenario libraries, incident response playbooks and recovery strategies.
- Experience delivering business continuity testing, resilience exercises or scenario analysis and translating findings into remediation actions.
- Understanding of operational risk management, risk assessments, controls, risk monitoring and reporting.
- Experience working with business, operations and technology stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess vulnerabilities and develop practical resilience solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with APRA CPS 230 and working within a regulated financial services environment would be highly regarded.
Experience across financial markets, market operations or technology would also be advantageous, alongside familiarity with incident response frameworks and ASIC market integrity requirements.
