PowerGen Property Risk Consultant with Nuclear Experience



We are seeking an experienced Risk Engineer to join Marsh's Specialty Risk Engineering team within Risk Consulting. In this role, you will advise clients in the Nuclear Power Generation sector on property risk, construction risk, and operational exposures. You will lead complex client engagements, support both prospective and existing power generation clients, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, colleagues, and the insurance market.




This is a hybrid role that may be based anywhere in the US, with up to three days per week in the office depending on location.




We will count on you to:

• Lead complex power generation and nuclear infrastructure risk consulting engagements as a senior subject matter expert


• Provide professional services including construction schedule reviews and design reviews for power plants and nuclear installations


• Support client executives and placement teams by preparing and reviewing construction risk reports, attending carrier site visits, and advocating on behalf of clients


• Author comprehensive construction and operational all-risk reports, including property and machinery breakdown loss estimates using Marsh's Power Gen Loss Estimating Tool


• Evaluate property damage, machinery breakdown, and natural catastrophe exposures, and recommend practical risk mitigation strategies


• Build and expand senior-level client relationships, including with C-suite executives, and identify opportunities to grow Marsh's risk consulting and specialty risk engineering services

What you need to have:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in power generation property insurance risk consulting and/or power generation construction project management with nuclear experience


• Demonstrated expertise leading property insurance surveys and evaluating complex construction and operational risks for large-scale power generation and nuclear projects


• Experience reviewing and commenting on engineering design documents, project schedules, and project controls for major construction programs


• Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leaders

What makes you stand out:

• Prior experience in nuclear power generation construction, including protection strategies and project execution


• An engineering degree or related technical background, and/or relevant professional designations in risk engineering, risk management, or insurance


• Confidence engaging with C-suite executives, building trust as a strategic advisor, and taking a consultative approach to client service
