Description



YouLend is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Payment Specialist to join our Funding and Payments Team within Operations.



In this role, you will support the daily processes that help merchants receive their funding and ensure payments are processed, recorded, and allocated accurately. You will work closely with your Team Lead and colleagues to check payment information, reconcile transactions, investigate discrepancies, and respond to funding and payment queries.



This is an opportunity to develop your career in financial operations, with training and support to build your knowledge of our systems and processes. The role focuses on funding administration and payment processing rather than collections, overdue account management, or debt recovery.




Key Responsibilities

• Support the daily processing of payments, following established procedures and agreed payment deadlines.


• Assist with funding administration, including checking information and updating records to support accurate and timely funding.


• Match incoming payments to the correct accounts and help reconcile payment records against bank statements and internal systems.


• Investigate routine payment discrepancies, rejected payments, and returned transactions, escalating more complex issues to your Team Lead.


• Complete post-funding requests within agreed service timelines, following the relevant procedures.


• Work with colleagues and external partners to follow up on payment delays and provide clear updates.


• Respond to routine funding and payment queries, seeking guidance when needed.


• Maintain accurate transaction records and handle confidential information carefully.


• Follow internal controls and verification procedures, flagging unusual transactions or potential fraud concerns to the appropriate team.


• Organize your workload to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.


• Learn how to use YouLend's funding and payments systems and contribute ideas to improve everyday processes.

• Strong attention to detail and a careful approach to checking information.


• Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and computer systems.


• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage several tasks with support from your Team Lead.


• A practical approach to problem-solving and the confidence to ask questions when something does not look right.


• Clear written and verbal communication skills.


• A collaborative attitude and willingness to support your colleagues.


• Able to follow procedures, recognize when an issue needs escalating, and handle sensitive information professionally.


• Willingness to learn, take feedback, and adapt as processes develop.


• An interest in building a career in funding, payments, or financial operations.

• Experience in payments, funding administration, banking operations, or a similar processing role.


• Familiarity with reconciliation, transaction records, or bank statements.


• Basic knowledge of payment verification, fraud awareness, or anti-money laundering procedures.


• Experience using Microsoft Excel to organize, check, or compare data.
