Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
2+ years of accounting experience with exposure to inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing accounting.
Strong understanding of inventory valuation, costing methodologies, and U.S. GAAP.
Experience reconciling inventory balances, preparing journal entries, and supporting month-end close.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and data analysis.
Experience working within an ERP system; manufacturing ERP experience preferred.
Ability to analyze cost variances, inventory movements, and operational data.
Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Ability to partner effectively with operations, warehouse, receiving, and leadership teams.
Experience within food manufacturing, agribusiness, grain processing, commodities, or other manufacturing environments is highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, packaging materials, and byproducts.
Calculate and analyze standard and actual product costs, including production yields, overhead absorption, and conversion costs.
Investigate and explain inventory, production, and cost variances.
Prepare inventory-related journal entries, accruals, reserves, and month-end close schedules.
Reconcile perpetual inventory records to the general ledger and physical inventory counts.
Coordinate monthly and annual inventory counts and resolve count-to-book variances.
Develop and strengthen inventory controls, procedures, and reporting processes.
Partner with plant operations and receiving teams to improve inventory accuracy and transaction processing.
Produce inventory reports, aging analyses, and operational metrics for management.
Support borrowing base reporting, budgeting, audits, and lender requests.
Assist with ERP enhancements, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
