Underwriter - Aviva Private Clients

Salary : Circa £30,000

As an Underwriter within Aviva Private Clients, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our broker partners, underwriting new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments across our Private Client portfolio. Combining strong technical expertise with great relationship-building skills, you'll help drive profitable growth, support retention ambitions and build broker confidence in APC as their insurer of choice. Working across a range of products and broker relationships, you'll take ownership of the business you write and contribute directly to the success and performance of the team.

A bit about the job:

• To be a multi-class underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the Private Client business.
• The ability to hold meaningful conversations with brokers to build their confidence in us and to make Aviva Private Clients their insurer of choice. To understand and use data sources to improve the customer journey.
• Understands and embraces the Aviva Private Clients (APC) strategy, Making suggestions to improve where appropriate.
• Considers wider business relationships when making underwriting decisions, these may need wider business relationships taken into account (depending on the broker and the size of the account involved) and these can be discussed with underwriting colleagues or the sales team.
• Core purpose of the role is to underwrite new business, mid-term adjustments and renewals for Private Client products (MNW, Digital, HNW and UHNW), and service core broker relationships.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

• Experience in Personal Lines Home and Motor Underwriting (preferably high net worth)
• Excellent Private Client market awareness (including competitors, market trends and brokers)
• Excellent communication, listening, time management and negotiating skills.
• Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulations and legislations.
• You are encouraged to study for CII qualifications and professional development will aid progression within the Private Client underwriting structure.

• Salary : Circa £30,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
