An opportunity to join a highly regarded Indirect Tax team within a leading Top 10 accountancy practice. This Associate Director role is advisory-focused, offering the chance to work on complex VAT matters, build strong relationships with senior clients and play a key role in the continued growth of the VAT practice.

You'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of VAT advisory work, acting as a trusted adviser to clients across a range of sectors and industries. The role offers significant client exposure, technical variety and the opportunity to work closely with Directors and Partners on complex and high-profile engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex UK VAT advisory engagements, providing practical and commercially focused advice.
• Advise clients on high-risk and strategic VAT issues, interpreting legislation and case law in a commercial context.
• Own client relationships and manage engagements from initial scoping through to delivery.
• Prepare high-quality technical advice and reports for senior stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
• Work closely with Directors and Partners on key client accounts and complex advisory projects.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior team members, supporting technical and professional development.
• Collaborate with other service lines to deliver joined-up advice and identify wider opportunities.
• Contribute to business development, thought leadership and the continued growth of the VAT advisory offering.

About You

• Significant UK VAT / Indirect Tax advisory experience gained in practice or in-house.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience advising on complex VAT matters.
• Proven experience managing client relationships and leading advisory engagements.
• Previous experience managing, mentoring and developing junior professionals.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear commercial advice.
• Strong organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements.
• A commercially minded approach and a genuine interest in developing client relationships and new business.
