Shape the Future of Social Care - Join the Board of a Charity with Regional Impact
Alternative Futures Group (AFG) is one of the North West's largest health and social care charities, supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions to define the life they want and take positive steps towards it. With over 2,000 colleagues across 300 locations, we deliver personalised, outcome-focused support that enables independence, dignity and belonging.
As demand for high-quality, person-centred care continues to rise, AFG is strengthening its digital capability, investing in culture and leadership, and reshaping how we innovate and grow. To help steward this next phase, we are seeking a
Finance Trustee who brings strategic financial leadership, robust governance insight and a commitment to improving lives.
You will help ensure AFG remains financially strong, well governed and able to invest in the services, people and systems that underpin our future success. With a recognised financial qualification and senior leadership experience, you will bring:
- Strategic judgement and intellectual curiosity
- Confidence interpreting financial and organisational performance data
- Integrity, independence and sound governance instincts
- A commitment to AFG's mission, values and beneficiaries
- A collaborative, thoughtful and constructive approach
We welcome candidates from a wide range of sectors including health, social care, housing, education, professional services, outsourced public services and the private sector. We also encourage applications from people who may not see themselves as "typical trustees" - diverse perspectives strengthen our Board and improve decision-making.
