A highly regarded investment management organisation is seeking a senior Director-level Operational Due Diligence and Investment Oversight professional to join its London-based team.
This is a strategic hire offering broad exposure across both traditional and alternative investment strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading operational due diligence reviews, evaluating control environments and overseeing the ongoing monitoring of external investment managers across a diverse range of asset classes.
Working closely with investment teams, risk, compliance and senior leadership, the role will play a key part in manager selection, governance and investment oversight.
Key Responsibilities- Lead operational due diligence reviews of prospective and existing investment managers.
- Assess governance structures, internal controls, operational infrastructure and risk management frameworks.
- Evaluate investment operations, valuation processes, service providers and business continuity arrangements.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior committees and key decision-makers.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of approved managers and identify emerging operational risks.
- Support manager onboarding, mandate reviews and investment approval processes.
- Drive enhancements to the firm's operational due diligence framework and governance standards.
- Partner with stakeholders across investments, legal, compliance, risk and finance.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent ) is preferred
- Proven operational due diligence, investment oversight, audit, controls or investment risk experience gained within asset management, investment consulting, banking, private markets, hedge funds or a similar investment environment.
- Experience assessing investment managers across areas such as Private Equity, Private Credit, Hedge Funds, Real Estate and traditional asset management strategies.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, governance frameworks and operational risk.
- Excellent report-writing, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable engaging with senior investment professionals and committee-level stakeholders.
- CFA and/or CAIA qualifications would be viewed favorably.
