Job Summary:



The Senior Structuring and Pricing Actuary will be responsible for modeling and pricing new NA FINSOL transactions. The position will work closely with the FINSOL Senior Structuring and Modeling actuary as well as the business development team on new opportunities.




About the role:

• Model and price financial reinsurance solutions understanding the accounting, regulatory and economic risk parameters


• Build pricing models analyzing the risk and profitability of life reinsurance solutions:
  
  
  
  • Organize, evaluate and analyze the data needed for transactions
  
  
  • Will interact with L&H risk officers and other team members seeking approval on transactions
  
  


• Contribute to deal execution including responding to RFPs and assist in authoring internal approval memorandums


• Assist in preparing and presenting internal and external presentations on life reinsurance topics as required

Qualifications:




Technical Skills:

• Proficient in building MS-Excel models taking projected balance sheet and income statements into transaction specific models


• Strong actuarial background working on US life insurance / reinsurance transactions; pricing, valuation or financial reporting


• Knowledge of USGAAP accounting standards and financial reporting is advantageous


• Prior experience working on financial solution transactions would be advantageous


• Actuarial Modeling experience (i.e. AXIS modeling) would be advantageous

Behavioral Competencies:

• Comfortable in a client facing capacity as well as working in a dynamic and fast paced environment


• Great communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Will be an individual contributor required to complete tasks vs delegating responsibilities


• Enjoys working in a strong and cooperative team environment

Work Experience:

• Qualified life actuary (FSA, FIA or career ASA) with at least 5 years of relevant experience

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree

Professional Qualifications or Designations:

• FSA/FIA or career ASA
