A growing insurance team is seeking a Director of Insurance Finance to lead financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives across the business. This highly visible leadership role will partner with executive management on growth initiatives, profitability analysis, operational improvements, and M&A activity while overseeing a finance and accounting team.
Director of Insurance Finance
A well-established insurance team is seeking a senior finance leader to serve as the strategic partner to executive leadership and oversee the financial direction of the business. This individual will help drive growth initiatives, improve financial visibility, and support key business decisions across the organization.
Key Areas of Focus:
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning efforts for a complex, multi-location business.
- Partner with senior leadership to evaluate business performance, profitability trends, and growth opportunities.
- Build financial models and provide actionable insights to support long-term decision-making.
- Oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, audits, and compliance activities.
- Develop meaningful reporting and KPIs that help leadership better understand performance across teams, offices, and revenue channels.
- Lead and develop a finance and accounting team while helping create a scalable finance function.
- Play a key role in acquisition activity, including financial analysis, due diligence, and integration support.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
Ideal Background:
- 7+ years of Progressive finance and accounting leadership experience with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- 3+ years in a senior financial leadership role.
- Strong business partnering skills and ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience within insurance, brokerage, financial services, or another relationship-driven business model is highly preferred.
- Exposure to M&A activity, strategic planning, and operational finance.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, and performance management.
- CPA, MBA, or similar credentials are a plus.
