Hedge Fund Operations Analyst (9 Month Fixed Term Contract with likely extension)
£75,000 - £100,000 - with strong completion bonus
An established alternative investment manager with a specialist focus on global and emerging markets is looking for an experienced Operations Contractor to join its London team. The role will provide hands-on support across existing fund operations and an upcoming fund launch, while helping maintain key processes and deliverable during a period of team growth and transition.

Initial contract length: 9months, with possibility of extension
Start date: ASAP

- Participating in and contributing to working groups for new fund launches.
- Working closely with PMs to resolve ad hoc trade and operational queries.
- Clearing settlement breaks, chasing counterparties and administrators, monitoring bookings and pushing trades through to settlement
- Overseeing cash, position and P&L reconciliations and resolving differences with the fund administrator
- Managing and approving multiple OTC cash settlements each day.
- Supporting the onboarding and training of new permanent hires where appropriate.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of operations experience, including significant time at a hedge fund (essential).
- Deep, practical understanding of the full trade lifecycle across multiple asset classes, with the ability to own products independently from day one.
- Ability to quickly absorb new systems and processes and assess where they can be improved.
- Confidence working directly with PMs and traders in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience managing reconciliations and resolving breaks with fund administrators and counterparties.
