Drive unified alignment across the organisation to support Temasek's strategic investment vision and enhance our overall investment performance.

Responsibilities

This role provides a unique opportunity to gain a high-level perspective on Temasek's portfolio, investment activities, strategy and focus areas, as well as participate in developing plans and programmes to address ongoing organisational needs and enhance investment performance. You will work with IPM colleagues to support the Investment Group, contribute to organisational best practices and provide portfolio oversight support to senior stakeholders.

As part of the Investment Performance & Management (IPM) team, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

A. Investment & Portfolio

• Support senior management in formulating and communicating key investment strategies and strategic directives. Contribute to strategic and analytical projects that assist senior management in evaluating investment performance and refining investment strategy across Investing Teams' portfolios and Temasek's overall portfolio.
• Analyse investment and portfolio data to derive insights that enhance decision-making.
• Develop analytical inputs to inform overall investment strategy and direction, including investment focus and capital allocation.
• Work with investment and functional teams (PSRG, CF, RMU, etc.) to support reviews of investment strategy, including investment monitoring, investment activity and pace, and implications for portfolio construction and allocation.
• Support portfolio management and oversight efforts, including tracking and analysing progress under the Portfolio Action Plan and supporting value creation across select portfolio companies.

B. Investment Learnings, Best Practices & People

• Collaborate with Investing Teams across public and private markets to support firm-wide best practices and learning initiatives.
• Contribute to assessing and enhancing existing investment practices to support overall investment performance and activities.
• Help capture learnings across sector and market teams, and public and private market teams, to promote best practices.
• Work with IAC to support best practices that enhance investment decision-making.
• Support projects to enhance investment professionals' effectiveness and competency, including streamlining investment processes and assessing and developing training programmes, working with colleagues in Investment Services, L&R and O&P.

C. Technology & Governance

• Support business requirements and enhancements for in-house investment management systems, including reviewing related business processes, conducting user testing and providing training to end-users as necessary.
• Contribute to the ongoing review and enhancement of governance practices.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience with an investment background, preferably in private equity direct investing, portfolio management, management consulting or value creation.
• Strong technical skills in financial analysis, financial modelling, valuation and investment return analysis, with advanced Excel and strong PowerPoint capabilities.
• Hands-on and detail-oriented, with the ability to work through underlying data, validate assumptions and ensure the accuracy of analysis and reporting.
• Self-starter able to think about the big picture while embracing the details, manage multiple priorities and take ownership of defined workstreams with appropriate guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to articulate findings clearly and work effectively across teams.
• Sound understanding of the investing business and investment process; exposure to diligence, execution and investment management would be advantageous.
