What you'll do
As a Compliance Associate, you'll be working closely with the APAC Front Office and providing advice to ensure compliance with the relevant laws, regulations, and policies to prevent regulatory breaches.
Throughout the course of your work, you'll develop effective relationships and networks within compliance and work with colleagues in APAC and globally to ensure a consistent approach to new products, policy and procedures and transactional matters.
You'll also be working with senior members of the regulatory compliance team on projects, and daily advisory matters. You'll be making sure that all processes and procedures adopted reflect the research and interpretation of regulatory bodies rules and guidance, and industry best practice. You'll work closely with both internal and external auditors.
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you'll need strong knowledge of local financial services regulation, legislation, and codes of practice. Experience of interaction with regulators and hosting regulatory on site visits will be helpful. Experience as an auditor working with banks, prior experience as a compliance trainee or analyst with an international bank or large local bank, and prior experience in corporate banking or global markets compliance will all be an advantage.
You'll also possess initiative and drive working as well as the ability to source and assess multiple data and information points to help make risk based decisions and solutions.

- You'll be part of the APAC Regulatory Compliance team, working within the broader legal and compliance function in NatWest Markets APAC
- You'll be a generalist, working on regulatory compliance matters, supporting the global markets compliance team, and have exposure to financial crime issues
- You'll thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment; and keen to learn how the trading businesses of a bank function

- The ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels, with good listening and questioning skills, influencing, leading, and facilitating dialogue
- Experience of report writing at all levels, including executive and board and the ability to verbally deliver and discuss the content
- Experience of working within the financial services industry
- The ability to develop effective relationships and networks within compliance. Provide proactive support and advice to overseas compliance functions in relation to new products, policies, and procedures in order to achieve consistency and continuity in the NWM regulatory approach
Desirable:
- A relevant risk, governance, and compliance qualification such as an ICA Graduate Diploma
