Key Responsibilities

• KYC & Due Diligence Review: Conduct end-to-end reviews of client profiles during account opening and periodic recertifications, including risk assessment, due diligence analysis, risk rating assignment, and transaction reviews to detect suspicious activity.
• Compliance Advisory & Risk Management: Provide day-to-day advisory to business lines on AML/CFT, Financial Security, sanction risks, PEP identification, adverse media, and investment suitability (e.g., client risk profiling and assessments).
• Governance & Committee Reporting: Prepare and present complex client profiles to the local risk committee for onboarding or relationship maintenance approvals; perform risk assessments to decide on account unblocking.
• Monitoring & Incident Handling: Monitor high-risk client profiles, manage Financial Security incidents, conduct internal investigations, and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) when necessary.
• Regulatory Analysis & Policy Alignment: Perform gap analysis on local regulatory consultation papers (e.g., MAS, HKMA) and new international regulations against internal policies, assisting in policy updates and regional synchronization.
• Reporting, Audits & Control Execution: Execute local Financial Security controls, maintain accurate tracking/reporting for onboarding and recertification timelines, and support internal and external audit engagements.
• Stakeholder Training & Regional Initiatives: Deliver compliance training to Front Office and Client Management teams on revised policies and participate in regional wealth management compliance projects.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience in KYC, AML/CFT compliance, or Financial Security within Wealth Management or Private Banking.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of domestic regulatory frameworks (e.g., MAS) and exposure to regional/international regulations (e.g., HKMA, EU regulations).
• Technical Expertise: Strong background in customer due diligence (CDD), transaction monitoring, suspicious transaction reporting (STR), sanction checks, and PEP screening.
• Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and advisory skills to interface effectively with business units, senior management, and regional compliance teams.
• Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for gap analyses, complex risk evaluations, and committee presentations.
