Enterprise Architect for IT Processes
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the evolution of the enterprise IT process landscape in a regulated capital markets and banking environment, with a strong focus on IT process cartography , COBIT-aligned governance , and the automation of documentation flows across IT and Information Security processes.
This role is designed for a senior architect who can operate at the intersection of governance, process architecture, risk, control, and transformation . The successful candidate will shape enterprise-wide frameworks that improve transparency, traceability, control effectiveness, and regulatory readiness, while also driving more efficient and standardized documentation practices across projects, programs, and governance bodies.
Your Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the enterprise architecture for IT and Information Security processes and the related process cartography consistency within a regulated banking environment.
- Establish a structured process architecture that supports auditability, traceability, accountability, and regulatory compliance across the IT run and change landscape.
- Lead enterprise-wide IT process cartography, mapping end-to-end IT processes, control points, ownership, dependencies, approvals, governance touchpoints, and links to supporting systems and documentation.
- Apply COBIT principles and governance objectives to strengthen enterprise IT governance, management practices, control alignment, and oversight mechanisms in banking contexts.
- Identify process fragmentation, manual hand-offs, duplicate artifacts, control weaknesses, and documentation bottlenecks, and design pragmatic improvement roadmaps and transformation recommendations.
- Act as a senior advisor to leadership on IT Process governance, framework adoption, documentation discipline, and process simplification in a highly controlled environment.
Specific Focus: Documentation Flow Automation
A critical dimension of this role is improving how IT process and governance documentation is created, managed, and controlled across the organization. The IT Process Architect will be expected to:
- Define a target model for automated project documentation flows across the delivery lifecycle that is aligned with the agile project delivery model and promotes a more industrialized, reusable, and controlled approach to producing mandatory documentation in regulated programmes and change initiatives.
- Define target-state documentation processes that reduce manual effort, improve quality and consistency, and strengthen evidence readiness for internal control, risk, compliance, and audit reviews.
- Standardize documentation structures, metadata, ownership, review cycles, and approval paths to help ensure that documentation is not treated as isolated administrative output but serves as an enabler in the agile delivery model.
- Improve traceability between requirements, architecture decisions, risk assessments, control evidence, implementation records, and governance approvals.
Qualifications, Professional Skills and Experience
- University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Management, or a related field is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of the key principles of standard frameworks, e.g. COBIT.
- Experience in Enterprise Architecture, IT Governance, Operating Model Design, or strategic architecture leadership in banking, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong expertise in IT process mapping / cartography and enterprise process modelling at scale.
- Experience improving or automating project documentation flows, governance documentation, or evidence-management processes in complex delivery organizations.
Soft Skills
- Interpersonal. Be self-motivated and proactive, have strong, innovative and creative problem-solving skills, be open and welcoming to change, work comfortably in a constantly evolving environment and have an ability to remain calm under pressure and in the face of uncertainty.
- Collaborative. Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across IT, business, risk, compliance, control, security, and transformation functions.
- Change. Ability to handle multiple projects against tight deadlines whilst being instrumental in delivering cultural change throughout the organization.
- Strong risk mind-set. Aspiration to a culture of excellence.
