Job Description

1. Industry & Thematic Research (Soft Tech Focus)

• Conduct in-depth global research across soft tech verticals, including SaaS, cloud computing, cybersecurity, AI applications, software infrastructure, digital media, and platform technologies.
• Analyze industry structure, competitive dynamics, technological evolution, regulation, and long-term disruption patterns.
• Maintain and update proprietary sector models, databases, and thematic frameworks.
• Identify transformative industry themes and deliver forward-looking insights to the investment team.

1. Investment Due Diligence & Support

• Support the evaluation of public technology companies through financial modeling, valuation analysis, and ongoing monitoring.
• Participate in due diligence for private technology investments, including industry validation, competitive benchmarking, and strategic assessment.
• Provide high-quality research input for multi-asset investment decisions aligned with Ikaria's technology-focused mandate.

1. Communication & Thought Leadership

• Produce investment memos, sector reports, and thematic papers for internal decision-makers.
• Present findings to the investment committee and key shareholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with industry experts, technology executives, bankers, research providers, and the broader innovation ecosystem.

The Successful Applicant

Technical Expertise

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in TMT research, preferably in buy-side/sell-side equity research, strategy consulting, investment banking, or within the software/tech industry.
• Deep sector knowledge in global software and internet ecosystems.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills; familiarity with technology capital markets.

Analytical Ability

• Ability to synthesize complex technology trends into actionable investment insights.
• Skilled at interpreting industry data, market indicators, and emerging innovation cycles.
• Strong written communication with clear, concise analytical storytelling in both Mandarin and English

Soft Skills

• Entrepreneurial mindset aligned with the culture of a technology-founded investment platform.
• High degree of ownership, independence, and intellectual curiosity.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in finance, economics, engineering, computer science, data science, or related fields is preferred.
