Background:

1. A banking-based SOE investment bank.
2. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Operations AVP to join the operations team, with primary responsibility for settlement activities. This role focuses on the accurate and timely settlement of Hong Kong equities and funds, with exposure to bond settlement as a plus.

Responsibility:

1. Execute daily settlement of Hong Kong equity trades (HKEX-listed stocks) via CCASS , ensuring seamless Delivery versus Payment (DvP) on the T+2 cycle.
2. Manage settlement for fund transactions, including subscriptions/redemptions and close coordination with fund administrators and custodians.
3. Perform trade confirmations, matching, exception investigations, and timely resolution of failed trades—with clear escalation protocols.
4. Monitor settlement flows, reconcile positions/cash/securities daily against custodians and internal systems, and maintain impeccable accuracy.
5. Support bond settlement activities (corporate/government bonds via CMU), including coupon payments and maturities, as needed (advantageous but not required).
6. Prepare insightful settlement reports, support audits/regulatory reviews, and ensure full compliance with SFC regulations, internal policies, and market standards.
7. Partner effectively with front office, compliance, trading, and custodian banks to resolve queries swiftly and maintain smooth operations.

Requirement:

1. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in settlement operations, ideally from an investment bank, brokerage, custodian, or similar financial institution in Hong Kong.
2. Strong, practical knowledge of HK equity settlement processes (CCASS, T+2, HKEX rules)—this is essential.
3. Advantageous: Familiarity with bond/fixed income settlement (CMU) or related processes.
4. Solid understanding of Hong Kong market practices and SFC regulatory requirements .
5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions a plus); experience with settlement platforms, SWIFT messaging, or similar systems is highly valued.
6. Highly detail-oriented, accurate, and calm under pressure during peak settlement windows.
7. Stable, reliable team player who thrives in structured environments and follows procedures diligently.
8. Excellent written and spoken Cantonese and/or Mandarin is advantageous for internal/external coordination.
