Derivatives Risk Control Head – Derivatives Business
My client is a leading Chinese wealth management conglomerate.
Responsibilities
1. Establish and continuously improve the independent risk control framework for Hong Kong over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives business, ensuring segregation of risk control logic from trading and business systems to achieve objective risk monitoring.
2. Conduct daily risk monitoring for OTC derivatives transactions, covering market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk.
3. Design and maintain risk measurement models and indicator systems.
4. Review counterparty creditworthiness, and formulate margin policies, collateral management rules, and risk limit schemes.
5. Monitor overall risk exposure and concentration of the business, periodically produce risk reports, and escalate major risks to management.
6. Collaborate with trading, operations, and compliance departments to optimize risk mitigation measures and contingency plans, ensuring robust business operations.
7. Perform other duties assigned by the company.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Economics, or related disciplines preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years in OTC derivatives risk control or quantitative risk management in offshore markets; proven experience in building risk models or systems; familiarity with Hong Kong OTC derivatives trading processes and risk management practices under ISDA/CSA agreements.
3. Mastery of derivative pricing models and risk metrics (Greeks, VaR, CVaR, etc.); possess systemic risk thinking and ability to independently design and implement a risk control architecture separate from business systems; strong data analytics skills to efficiently process trading and risk data.
4. Rigorous, objective, and resilient under pressure, capable of maintaining clear judgment in rapidly changing markets; able to continuously refine risk control methodologies.
5. Fluent in both Chinese and English as working languages, with proficiency in reading international trading and risk documentation.
