US-based Artificial Intelligence firm is looking for a Data Scientist for client projects across Asia. The firm was founded by an AI Professor from a leading US university and is developing ground-breaking solutions for a number of industries including Financial Services. Hong Kong is the APAC headquarters for the business.

The firm is highly innovative, leading-edge and experimental with AI technology. They have developed next-generation AI technologies related to Human Understanding, Cognitive Feeling, Linked Big Data, Advanced Visualization, Autonomous Learning, Machine Reasoning and Prediction.

As a Data Scientist, you will work on a client project related to predicting Customer Behaviour of a data-driven, digitally-native organisation. You will partner with the firm's Data Architects and Data Engineers to build innovative solutions for the company to assess customer behaviour, characteristics, risk profiling and recommendation opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. You must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. Ideally, you will have experience of Deep Learning and Graph Databases.

The Data Scientist must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. You must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies
