Sanctions Consultant
4-month initial Contract - Remote - Immediate Start
We are supporting a leading global fintech with the urgent engagement of a Sanctions Consultant to support a critical workstream within its French-side financial crime function.
The role will support the French business entity, with candidates able to be based remotely in either France or the UK.
Sitting within sanctions compliance, this role will focus on strengthening sanctions risk assessment, screening and investigations capability at pace, as part of a wider push to bring the function up to a consistently high standard.
The Role
You will work as part of the sanctions team, partnering closely with compliance, risk and technology stakeholders to deliver against a demanding timeline.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Support international sanctions compliance activity across multiple jurisdictions
- Conduct or support sanctions risk assessments
- Review and enhance screening and filtering tools and their calibration
- Lead or support sanctions investigations, ensuring thorough and well-evidenced outcomes
- Map regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions and ensure controls remain aligned
- Identify process or control gaps and recommend improvements to reduce sanctions risk
You will ideally bring:
- Proven experience in international sanctions compliance within financial services or fintech
- Hands-on experience with sanctions risk assessments
- Experience with screening and filtering tools, including calibration, tuning and false positive management
- Experience leading or supporting sanctions investigations
- French regulatory/business experience would be highly relevant
- Immediately available or on short notice
