About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Solution Architect with deep General Insurance domain expertise
to join a major transformation program focused on the separation and modernisation of core insurance capabilities.
This is a high-profile opportunity to play a key role in shaping the target-state architecture across
Claims, Policy Administration, Billing, Data & Reporting, while working closely with senior stakeholders, delivery partners, and enterprise architecture teams.The successful candidate will bring strong architecture leadership, a deep understanding of insurance operations, and the ability to influence business and technology decisions in a complex multi-vendor environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance Domain Architecture
- Provide subject matter expertise across General Insurance processes including:
- Claims Management
- Policy Administration
- Billing & Premium Management
- Underwriting Support
- Finance & Accounting
- Actuarial and Regulatory Reporting
- Define and maintain current-state, transition-state, and target-state architectures across the Insurance Program.
- Develop architecture artefacts using TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Guide data, reporting, and analytics architecture decisions where insurance business rules impact data structures and reporting outcomes.
- Align business objectives, regulatory obligations, and technology solutions to support future-state capabilities.
- Lead architectural discussions across multiple organisations, including business stakeholders, technology teams, delivery partners, and executive leadership.
- Provide technical and functional leadership to architects and project teams without formal people management responsibility.
- Facilitate architectural decision-making and communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build strong relationships across key stakeholders and influence strategic outcomes.
- Support architecture governance, standards, and review processes within a mature delivery environment.
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation, including:
- Present architecture decisions and artefacts to governance forums, audit teams, and senior leadership groups.
- Ensure alignment across application, integration, domain, and enterprise architecture streams.
- Identify and proactively manage architecture, technology, operational, regulatory, and compliance risks.
- Drive mitigation strategies and support delivery teams through complex transformation challenges.
- Ensure architecture decisions support business continuity and separation objectives.
- TOGAF Certification or equivalent Enterprise Architecture qualification.
- Experience with insurance platform transformations and modern insurance solutions such as
Duck Creek. - Experience supporting insurance separations, carve-outs, mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale platform migrations.
- Exposure to data platform modernisation, cloud transformations, data migration, integration, and streaming technologies.
- Experience working within mature governance environments (CMMI Level 3 or similar).
- Previous involvement with external audit, assurance, or advisory engagements.
- 12-month contract with strong extension potential.
- Opportunity to shape a major insurance transformation program.
