Associate Analyst (AA) – Mexico

Location: Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico

•Acting as lead analyst on Mexican and Latin American securitizations, analyzing relevant loan and pool level information, reviewing legal documentation, modeling cash flows, performing and presenting in-depth credit analysis effectively and comprehensively on a regular basis at rating committees. Relevant asset classes include: RMBS, ABS and CLOs, among others.
•Perform ongoing monitoring of performance of outstanding transactions.
•Write press releases and deal research; author thought-leading special research comments; both in English and Spanish.
•Lead meetings with issuers and investors; conduct operational reviews of servicers and originators.
•Develop Moody's structured finance franchise in Mexico through intermediary outreach and visibility initiatives (e.g. conference participation).
•The individual is expected to build and maintain strong business relationships with an array of financial market participants, including structure finance issuers, financial advisors, underwriters, and investors.
•Strong communication and writing skills are important.
•The individual is also expected to analyze different types of transactions, and innovative financings.
•The individual is also expected to be a strong team player and work seamlessly with other teams within the organization.
•In addition, this individual will need to provide professional development guidance to junior analysts.

Regional New Ratings (145022)

•Strong academic background with an advanced degree in economics, finance, statistics or MBA. CFA Certification is considered a plus.•Substantial credit/risk assessment experience in structured finance products gained from a financial institution, asset management or public accounting firm, or proven equivalent•At least 3 years of work experience in finance•Broad-based understanding of Mexican financial markets and securitization; ability to analyze different asset types and innovative transactions•Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English, with some public speaking experience; proficiency in Portuguese helpful but not required•Experience in statistical analysis, cash flow modeling, Monte Carlo simulations•Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills•Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines•Ability to manage multiple competing priorities within deadlines while also complying with internal procedures and best practices as well as existing regulations. •Self-motivated and able to work independently.
